Vietnam established an AI Ethics Committee, committed to responsible AI development
The Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA) has just announced the establishment of an Ethics Committee on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
At the conference “Safe Artificial Intelligence – Shaping Responsible Innovation” in Hanoi, Professor Joshua Bengio discussed “Responsible AI and the importance of AI in education”.
Professor Joshua Benjio believes that the most important thing is that technology development must go hand in hand with protecting human rights and sustainable development of society.
According to professor Joshua Bengio, AI is developing rapidly, data efficiency increased by 30%, algorithm performance increased three times.
However, experts also recognize that this rapid development raises serious questions about the ability to control AI systems more intelligently than humans.
At the conference, the Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA) announced the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Ethics Committee.
The establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Ethics Committee demonstrates Vietnam’s efforts to build an AI ecosystem where innovations are developed within an ethical framework to ensure global competitiveness and protect social values.
The committee’s mission is to guide Vietnam’s AI development roadmap, ensure AI is deployed in accordance with ethical standards, innovate alongside social benefits, and promote a favorable legal environment for WHO.
The establishment of the AI Ethics Committee demonstrates Vietnam’s strong commitment to collaborating with the international community to address the complex challenges and opportunities posed by AI.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tu Quang – Vice President of VINASA, Chairman of the AI Ethics Committee, it is important to build a legal and ethical framework for effective and sustainable AI development.
Mr. Kuang believes that these frameworks are not intended to regulate but to provide direction, maximize the potential of AI and limit negative impacts to promote sustainable and appropriate technology development. social values.
Mr. Trung Gia Binh – Chairman of FPT Group – emphasized that the first goal of the newly established committee is to raise awareness of the Vietnamese people about what humanity is facing in the field of AI.
However, this “expansion” of knowledge is not intended to limit the development of AI, but rather it is a call for AI developers to be responsible and committed to complying with regulations.
